A barrier with a hole in it is not a barrier.

Most people picture pest control as a spray that poisons whatever it touches. A residual barrier is quieter and more mechanical than that. The deposit we lay is a fine, dry mineral film. An insect crossing it picks the particles up on its body, they abrade the waxy layer that keeps its water in, and it dries out. No cloud, no fumes on your worktop — a treated line the insect cannot cross without taking a lethal dose.

Two things follow from that, and they are the whole job.

One — coverage has to be dense enough

Abrasion is a dose. A few scattered particles do not score enough of the cuticle to matter; the insect walks on. There is a rate below which the band is decorative. Product labels carry that rate for a reason, and hitting it is the difference between a treatment and a smell of one. We calibrate to it and we log it.

Two — the band has to be continuous

A lethal patch with a gap beside it is not a barrier — it is a detour. An insect on a wall does not walk in a straight line; it follows the structure, and it will find any lane the deposit missed. Protection only exists once the lethal cover joins into one unbroken ring around the building. Below that point there is always a way through. Above it there is none. It is a threshold, not a gradient — which is exactly what the two bands on the home page show you.

So the survey matters more than the spray. We find the actual entry points, proof the gaps below the width a mouse or an insect can use, and only then lay the band. Then we come back at the breeding cycle, because one pass never clears an egg stage.
